16 November 2022: Over 100 percent of Fiji’s adult population have received at least one dose while 95 percent have received the second dose. Additionally, 168,675 (53.9%) booster-eligible individuals have so far received their 3rd dose while 27,703 individuals have been administered the 4th dose.
Fiji’s vaccination rate is a milestone for the normality of the Fijian economy, paving the way for high community-wide immunisation and low hospitalisation.
Therefore, effective today, the COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Taskforce (CRMT) announces the following changes to Fiji’s COVID Safe Business Protocols:
The CRMT reiterates that these flexibilities aim to empower the business community and general public to take greater responsibility in ensuring health and safety. Fijians and Fijian businesses are requested to become self-compliant, therefore, COVID safe measures remain highly encouraged.
The COVID Safe protocols, as published by the CRMT, will remain as guidelines to support COVID safe best practices.
The CRMT will continue to review COVID safe measures and entry requirements, with a focus on fostering socio-economic recovery, maintaining border and community surveillance to ensure early warning of future threats, and supporting the mandate for community wide protection through vaccination.
